Welcome to the Data Farm… You Are the Product!

Good day, dear user. Are you enjoying a calm, quiet, and free day? I imagine you now, sipping your coffee alone in your favorite spot, scrolling on your phone, staring at its screen… thinking you are alone. But in reality, you are never truly alone these days.

No, this isn’t a sci-fi conspiracy theory, it’s #digital_reality, and you willingly agreed to it when you clicked “Accept” without bothering to read the fine print, hiding behind the assumption that legal text is incomprehensible anyway.

The app that requested access to your camera, microphone, location, face, and perhaps even your soul… did you ever ask it, “Why, dear user?” The simple answer: to watch you closely, under the pretext of “enhancing your experience.” Ah, what an “enhanced experience!” You don’t realize that every move, every click, every second you spend watching a video about cooking pasta is recorded, analyzed, and sold in a market whose location you don’t know.

Every time you click “Accept Cookies,” consider that you just offered a piece of your awareness on a golden plate. Cookies are not just tiny files, they are #digital_spies with honorary ranks.

Let’s be clear: in this era, if you don’t pay for the product, you are the product. Your data is sold to companies that know you better than your own mother—when you sleep, when you get angry, what you like, and even what you might buy if your psychological triggers are activated. And the best part? This data is used to show you ads that convince you that you need a “smart rug” or an AI-powered toothbrush.

But there’s more. Big corporations and sometimes governments, use this data for manipulation, guidance, and even shaping your political opinion.

Have you heard about Cambridge Analytica? No? That’s hardly surprising if you’ve never read the terms and conditions you agreed to. Let’s recap: this company collected data from millions of Facebook users and used it to deliver highly targeted political ads, influencing major elections like the 2016 U.S. presidential election. It wasn’t limited to America—similar tactics appeared in the Brexit referendum, Brazil, India, and even in the Arab world, where digital campaigns targeted specific age groups or regions with emotionally charged or identity-based ads to sway voting behavior.

Dear reader, this isn’t about forcing choices, it’s about shaping beliefs. News is served to you to make you angry or satisfied, as needed. You think you are thinking freely? The algorithm is laughing in the corner.

Everything you see online is filtered to suit you—or rather, to suit the person they want you to be. Do you think you are choosing? My friend, real choice has become a luxury.

Do you say, “I have nothing to hide”? Perfect. That’s exactly what the watchers want. The more transparent you are, the easier a target you become. Privacy isn’t about hiding crime, it’s about preserving your humanity from being reduced to a data file that is bought and sold.

Do you use a VPN? Block your camera? Review app permissions? If not, welcome officially to the Exposed Entity Club.

Enough lecturing, dear reader. But to conclude: we are not against #technology; we are at its heart. The question is: does technology still serve us, or have we become slaves in data farms? In a world run by AI and algorithms, you are never alone. Your phone watches you, your smartwatch watches you, even your smart fridge knows how many eggs remain inside.

#Digital_freedom? Privacy? In 2025, these have become words of the past—unless you take steps now to regain some control: review app permissions, use privacy-respecting search engines, block trackers and cookies, enable two-factor authentication, and use a reliable VPN. Don’t overshare, minimize cloud dependency to essentials, and most importantly, don’t click “Accept” without reading.

With a bit of awareness, you can protect your data and reclaim your privacy in a world that is always watching.

Is your phone ringing? Don’t worry, it’s just another ad, customized for you based on what you just said or read.
